เรื่องราวของโลกในปี 2061 ที่ญี่ปุ่นได้ถูกปกครองและถูกแบ่งโดยเขตเศรษฐกิจหลักทั้ง 4 ของโลก ทำให้ชาวญี่ปุ่นใช้ชีวิตด้วยการถูกกดขี่ในฐานะมนุษย์ของประเทศใต้ปกครอง อีกทั้งญี่ปุ่นยังกลายเป็นแนวหน้าของโลกที่มี “AMAIM” อาวุธพิเศษรูปแบบมนุษย์จากแต่ละเขตคอยสอดส่องด้วย อยู่มาวันหนึ่ง Shiiba Amou เด็กหนุ่มผู้ที่ชื่นชอบเครื่องจักร ได้พบกับ “Gai” AI สมองเทียมที่มีความคิดอิสระ หรือ I-LeS และจากเหตุการณ์นี้ก็ทำให้ Amou อุทิศตัวต่อสู้เพื่อที่จะทวงญี่ปุ่นกลับมา โดยการขับ “Kenbu” หุ่น AMAIM ที่เขาเป็นคนสร้างขึ้นมาเองกับมือ
